SiteSee Adds Browser-Based AR Navigation Without an App Download
Visitors can begin approved indoor guidance from a QR code in the mobile browser, adding a lower-friction route into destination search and augmented directions.
Arrival did not become easier simply because the visitor reached the property.
Inside a hotel, venue, campus or complex gathering place, unfamiliar visitors still need to find registration, meeting rooms, amenities, elevators or other destinations. Signs may be missed, names may be unfamiliar and a route that seems obvious to staff may not be obvious to a first-time guest.
Requiring an application download can add friction for someone who needs the route once. The guidance must be easy to reach while the property retains control over approved destinations and route logic.
SiteSee added a QR-to-browser augmented navigation mode.
In April 2026, SiteSee publicly announced browser-based AR navigation. A visitor could scan a verified QR code and begin supported guidance through the mobile browser without installing a dedicated application.
The feature extends the connected property model from advance web review into the live arrival experience. Destination search, route preview and augmented direction can draw from the same approved spatial foundation, subject to property configuration and device support.
Temporary visitors can reach help with one less setup step.
A hotel guest, event attendee or campus visitor may be more willing to use guidance that begins in the browser. Properties can place entry points at known locations and maintain route content centrally as part of an approved wayfinding program.
Convenience does not remove operational responsibility. Routes, closures, accessible alternatives, signage and non-digital support still require property validation.

What your team can do with this milestone.
- Validate the spatial model against the live property.
- Define approved destinations, route rules and audience access.
- Test stairs, elevators, closures and accessible alternatives.
- Place QR entry points only at verified physical locations.
- Maintain signage, staff support and a non-digital fallback.
What this release does not claim.
Browser-based navigation does not guarantee positioning accuracy, accessible routing, emergency suitability, device compatibility or continuous availability. Every property must validate routes, signage, permissions and fallback procedures.
Connect advance orientation with onsite guidance.
SiteSee Onsite Navigation can combine destination search, route preview, kiosk access and augmented guidance around one property foundation.
